Imphal, Oct 27: Director General of Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, held a high-level operational review meeting with Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), G P Singh, IPS, in Imphal, Manipur, on October 27 to review the prevailing security situation and strengthen coordination between the two forces.

The meeting was attended by senior officers of both forces and focused on enhancing inter-force coordination, reviewing operational preparedness and reinforcing joint efforts to maintain peace, stability and public order across the state.
During the meeting, the senior officers discussed the importance of coordinated efforts and effective communication between the forces to address security challenges and ensure operational readiness. The discussions also emphasised the need to maintain close cooperation among formations deployed in the state.
Assam Rifles and the CRPF play significant roles in supporting security arrangements in the Northeast. Coordination between the two forces is considered important for ensuring a unified approach to operational requirements and responding effectively to evolving security situations.
