February 23, 2026 | BK News Service

Tirap, Feb 22: Assam Rifles under SpearCorps swiftly responded to fire incidents at Nogna Village in Tirap district, Arunachal Pradesh, and Soil Colony in Shamator district, Nagaland, preventing major losses and ensuring the safety of residents.

In both instances, troops coordinated closely with local civil authorities and community members to contain the blazes. Rapid action included evacuation of residents from high-risk areas, establishing safety perimeters, and providing immediate assistance to affected families.
The prompt intervention helped avert significant damage to homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods. Assam Rifles personnel also assisted local authorities in conducting damage assessments and ensuring temporary shelter and relief support for affected residents.
Officials highlighted that the operations reflect the Spear Corps’ commitment to community safety and disaster response in remote and vulnerable regions, where immediate assistance can be critical in averting large-scale loss.
Residents expressed gratitude for the timely support, noting that the quick and coordinated response prevented what could have been a severe disaster in both villages. The Assam Rifles reaffirmed its ongoing role in civil-military cooperation, extending beyond security duties to include disaster mitigation and community welfare initiatives in northeastern India.
