Tengnoupal , May 22; Assam Rifles conducted a medical outreach camp at T Bongmol village in Tengnoupal district on 21 May 2026, as part of its ongoing civic action initiatives aimed at supporting remote communities and strengthening civil-military relations.
The camp provided essential healthcare services to nearly 40 villagers from T Bongmol and adjoining areas, many of whom have limited access to regular medical facilities due to difficult terrain and distance from healthcare centres.
A team of medical personnel carried out general health check-ups, diagnosed common illnesses, and provided free medicines to patients on the spot. The outreach focused on addressing immediate health concerns while also offering basic preventive care.
In addition to treatment, the medical team conducted awareness sessions on hygiene practices, nutrition, and preventive healthcare measures. Villagers were guided on maintaining sanitation standards and early identification of common health issues to avoid complications.
Local residents appreciated the initiative, noting that such camps provide critical support in areas where medical infrastructure is limited. Many beneficiaries expressed gratitude for both the treatment and the awareness support provided during the camp.
Assam Rifles officials stated that such outreach programmes are part of their sustained efforts to contribute to the welfare of border and remote communities, alongside maintaining security and stability in the region.
The camp concluded with positive engagement between the medical team and villagers, reinforcing trust and goodwill between the local population and security forces.
