Assam Rifles conduct health camps across Assam and Manipur

June 08, 2026 | BK News Service

Imphal, June 7: Spear Corps formations, including Dao Division and Assam Rifles units, organised a series of humanitarian and medical outreach initiatives in Assam and Manipur, aimed at improving community health awareness and providing timely medical assistance in remote areas.

At Dinjan in Assam, an occupational health awareness programme was conducted for over 150 tea estate workers. The initiative focused on educating workers about workplace-related health risks, hygiene practices, preventive healthcare, and the importance of early medical consultation. Medical personnel also interacted with workers to address common health concerns and promote overall well-being in plantation communities.
In a parallel outreach effort, a medical camp was organised at Songpi village in Manipur, where nearly 300 villagers received free medical consultation, health check-ups, and essential medicines. The camp was conducted by Army medical teams as part of ongoing civic action programmes to strengthen healthcare access in remote and underserved regions.
In a separate incident, Assam Rifles medical teams provided swift emergency assistance to a snakebite victim in Noney district of Manipur. The timely response and immediate medical intervention helped stabilise the patient, underscoring the critical role of security forces in life-saving humanitarian support in remote terrain.
Officials stated that such initiatives reflect the continued commitment of Assam Rifles towards community welfare, outreach, and strengthening trust with local populations through sustained civic action and humanitarian assistance efforts.
