Assam Rifles boosts youth empowerment

July 17, 2026 | BK News Service

New Delhi, July 16: Reinforcing its commitment to youth empowerment and nation-building, the Assam Rifles has conducted a series of skill development, career guidance and pre-recruitment initiatives across Tripura, Nagaland and Manipur, helping hundreds of young aspirants prepare for careers in the armed forces and other security services.

The initiatives, undertaken under the aegis of Spear Corps, focused on enhancing employability, creating awareness about career opportunities and equipping young people with the skills required to join the Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and other government services.
In Radhanagar, Tripura, the Assam Rifles has trained more than 400 youth through structured coaching and physical training programmes. As a result of these sustained efforts, 157 candidates have successfully secured selection in the Indian Army, CAPFs and other security forces, reflecting the effectiveness of the initiative.
In Avangkhu and Naginimora in Nagaland, awareness programmes were organised to educate students and job aspirants about career opportunities in the armed forces, skill development schemes and self-employment avenues. Participants were also guided on recruitment procedures, eligibility criteria and the importance of physical fitness and discipline.
Meanwhile, in Churachandpur, Manipur, the Assam Rifles conducted a month-long Agniveer Pre-Recruitment Training Programme aimed at preparing candidates for the Indian Army recruitment process. The programme recorded an 85 per cent success rate in the written examination, highlighting the quality of training and mentorship provided.
Officials said the initiatives are part of the Assam Rifles' broader outreach efforts to empower youth, promote education and create meaningful employment opportunities, particularly in remote and border areas of the Northeast.
The force believes that investing in the aspirations of young people not only strengthens local communities but also contributes to national integration and long-term socio-economic development.
Through continuous engagement with educational institutions, local communities and aspiring candidates, the Assam Rifles aims to inspire confidence, develop leadership qualities and enable youth to build successful careers while serving the nation.
