
Kangpokpi, May 22: Assam Rifles organised a Yoga, Meditation and Surya Namaskar session at MB Saichang Upper Primary School in Kangpokpi district on 21 May 2026, as part of the 100-day countdown to the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026.
The event saw active participation from 84 individuals, including students, teachers, and local civilians, who gathered to take part in guided yoga practices aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and a balanced lifestyle.
Trained personnel from Assam Rifles led the session, demonstrating various yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques. The programme also included Surya Namaskar routines, designed to improve flexibility, concentration, and overall health.
Participants were encouraged to adopt yoga as a regular practice for maintaining both physical and mental wellness. Emphasis was placed on the importance of discipline, mindfulness, and healthy habits, particularly among school students.
