
Dibrugarh, July 15: Reinforcing its commitment to promoting cyber awareness among youth, the Indian Army's Dao Division under Spear Corps organised a Cyber Security and Cyber Crime Awareness lecture for NCC cadets at Dibrugarh University in Assam.
The awareness programme aimed to educate cadets about emerging cyber threats, safe online practices and the importance of responsible digital behaviour in an increasingly technology-driven world.
During the interactive session, Army officials highlighted various forms of cybercrime, including online fraud, phishing, identity theft, social media scams, cyberbullying and data breaches. The cadets were also sensitised to the risks associated with sharing personal information online and the growing threat posed by cybercriminals.
The resource persons emphasised the importance of strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, safe internet browsing, secure use of social media and timely reporting of suspicious online activities. Practical tips were shared to help students identify cyber threats and protect themselves from digital fraud.
The speakers urged the NCC cadets to act as cyber safety ambassadors within their families, educational institutions and communities by spreading awareness about responsible digital practices.
