
Rajouri, Oct 7: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, undertook a visit to the Rajouri and Kalakot areas to review the prevailing security scenario and assess the operational preparedness of troops deployed in the region.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed in detail on the prevailing security environment, operational challenges and the measures being adopted to ensure an effective and coordinated response to emerging threats. He reviewed the overall security arrangements, surveillance mechanisms, intelligence inputs, training standards and operational readiness of the formations and units deployed in the area.
Lt Gen Pratik Sharma also took stock of the security grid and reviewed the preparedness of troops to deal with evolving situations. He underscored the importance of maintaining constant alertness, strengthening intelligence-based operations and ensuring seamless coordination between the Army and other security agencies operating in the region.
Interacting with officers and soldiers, the Army Commander appreciated their professionalism, commitment and dedication to duty. He lauded the troops for maintaining a high level of alertness while operating under demanding conditions and encouraged them to continue adapting to the changing security environment.
Emphasising the need for sustained vigilance, Lt Gen Sharma called upon the troops to maintain the highest standards of discipline, training and operational readiness. He stressed that timely information sharing, effective coordination and rapid response capabilities remain vital for safeguarding peace and security in the region.
The Army Commander also reviewed various operational practices and measures being implemented to further strengthen the security architecture in the Rajouri–Kalakot belt. He encouraged the adoption of modern technologies, continuous capacity building and innovative approaches to enhance surveillance and situational awareness.
