Ladakh, July 21: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, visited a frontline division in the Ladakh sector to review the operational preparedness and capabilities of troops deployed in the high-altitude region.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the formation's initiatives towards the absorption of niche technologies, induction of next-generation weapons and equipment, and the adoption of innovative operational procedures aimed at enhancing combat effectiveness and mission readiness.
Interacting with officers and soldiers, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma lauded the formation's operational dynamism and innovative strategies designed to address diverse operational contingencies. He praised the troops for their professionalism, indomitable courage, and unwavering dedication while serving in the demanding high-altitude environment.Felicitating the personnel for their outstanding contribution to national security, the Army Commander urged all ranks to maintain the highest standards of operational excellence, intensify training, and remain steadfast in overcoming every challenge with determination and resilience.On the occasion, Lt Gen Sharma also flagged in the Fire and Fury Multi-Modal White Water Rafting and Mountain Terrain Biking Adventure Expedition, organised in the run-up to Kargil Vijay Diwas. He interacted with the expedition members and appreciated their spirit of adventure, endurance, and commitment, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in fostering physical fitness, teamwork, and the indomitable ethos of the Indian Army.
