Srinagar, April 9: To strengthen counter-terrorism efforts in Jammu and Kashmir, Army’s Northern Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, chaired a high-level meeting of Joint Control Centres to review the evolving security situation in the union Territory.

Army said the meeting focused on assessing the dynamic security landscape and enhancing the effectiveness of the counter-terrorism grid.
“Focussed and deliberate discussions were held with all stakeholders on strengthening the intelligence grid and ensuring optimum utilisation of resources for a stronger Counter Terrorism grid,” the Army’s Northern Command said on X.
Officials said security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have institutionalised weekly joint security review meetings to boost coordination and operational synergy among multiple agencies. These meetings are attended by senior officials from both Jammu and Kashmir regions, bringing various forces under a unified framework.
They added that deliberations during these sessions include intelligence sharing, improving joint operational readiness, refining inter-agency coordination, and strengthening the overall counter-terrorism mechanism. Importantly these meeting gather structured feedback and inputs from officers on ground zero
Officials said that the weekly review meetings are expected to significantly enhance the effectiveness of ongoing operations and ensure a more cohesive and robust security response across the region.
