May 17, 2026 | BK News Service

Nungba, May 16: The Assam Rifles under Spear Corps conducted a series of civil outreach initiatives across Manipur, including interactions with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) at Nungba and Kaimai, along with a medical camp at Tatbung, where 53 individuals received medical care.

The engagements with CSOs at Nungba and Kaimai focused on strengthening coordination between security forces and local communities, with an emphasis on maintaining peace, fostering mutual trust, and addressing local concerns through dialogue. Officials said such interactions are part of sustained efforts to build confidence and ensure stability in sensitive areas.
In a parallel initiative, Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Tatbung, providing basic healthcare services, consultations, and medicines to 53 residents. The camp catered to common health issues and aimed at improving access to medical facilities in remote and underserved regions.
Medical personnel associated with the camp said the initiative was designed to extend primary healthcare support to villagers who often face difficulties in reaching larger health centres due to distance and terrain challenges. Essential medicines were also distributed free of cost during the camp.
Officials stated that such community-oriented programmes reflect the Assam Rifles’ continued focus on civic action alongside its security responsibilities. They added that sustained engagement with local populations plays an important role in maintaining peace, promoting goodwill, and strengthening the overall security environment in the region.
