Kulgam, Feb 21: Under Football for Schools (F4S) initiative, JNV schools Kulgam carried out football distribution Programme here at Mini-Secretariat which was presided by District Development Council Chairperson, Kulgam, Mohammad Afzal Parray and distributed 383 footballs among 81 schools of the district under the nationwide initiative aimed at promoting football at the grassroots level.

Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kulgam, Mohd Altaf; Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kulgam, Ab Gani Bhat; Deputy Chief Education Officer Kulgam; Principal, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Kulgam other staff members and students of JNV Kulgam participated in programme.
Heads of institutions and representatives from the designated schools attended the event and received the footballs for their respective institutions.
During his address, the DDC Chairperson highlighted the importance of sports in the overall development of students, stating that games and physical activities not only build physical fitness but also instill discipline, teamwork, leadership qualities, and confidence among young learners. He also emphasized the vital role of teachers in shaping the future of students, noting that educators act as mentors and guides who inspire students to excel both academically and in sports.
Students of JNV Kulgam also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of sports in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, reducing stress, and promoting unity and team spirit among students.
