2 killed, 4 injured in Rajouri accident

LG, CM condole loss of lives

Rajouri, Aug 16: Two persons were killed and six others injured after an Eco vehicle met with an accident at Kandi Morha in Kotranka in Rajouri district.
Officials said the accident took place on Sunday when the vehicle, bearing registration number JK11D-7667, was on its way from Kandi to Mohra.
Six persons were injured in the mishap and were shifted to Government Medical College, Rajouri for treatment.
Officials said two of the injured later succumbed to injuries in the hospital, while two others remain critical and are undergoing treatment.
The condition of the remaining two is stated to be stable.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is underway
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deep anguish over the loss of lives in an unfortunate road accident in Rajouri district.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said he was “deeply pained” by the loss of lives in the accident and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
Sinha also prayed for the early recovery of those injured in the mishap. He said he had directed the district administration to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured and provide all necessary assistance.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accidents reported in Rajouri and Jalandhar that claimed precious lives and left several others injured.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for strength for them to cope with the difficult time.
Omar also directed the authorities to ensure the best possible medical care for those injured in the accidents. He further called for all necessary assistance to be extended to the affected families.
The Chief Minister assured that the administration would take all possible measures to support the victims and their families in the aftermath of the tragic incidents.
