Imphal, Sep 29: Security forces apprehended 10 insurgent cadres and recovered 48 weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores during a series of intelligence-based joint operations conducted across five districts of Manipur between September 20 and 27.

The operations were launched by formations of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles under Spear Corps, in coordination with the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Manipur Police.
The joint operations were carried out in Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Churachandpur and Thoubal districts, based on specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence and activities of insurgent cadres.
Acting on the intelligence, the security forces conducted coordinated operations at multiple locations across the affected districts, leading to the apprehension of 10 cadres and the recovery of a substantial quantity of weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores.
Officials said the operations reflected the close coordination between the Army, Assam Rifles, CAPFs and Manipur Police in addressing security challenges in the state.
The recovery of 48 weapons and associated stores is expected to help disrupt the operational capabilities of insurgent groups and prevent the movement and use of illegal arms in vulnerable areas.
The operations also highlighted the role of intelligence-led and coordinated action in maintaining security and stability across Manipur.
The apprehended cadres and recovered items were handed over to the concerned law-enforcement agencies for further investigation and legal action.
The security forces said such coordinated operations would continue in accordance with established procedures to counter insurgent activities and strengthen security across the state.
