His guidance attracted me more towards the spiritual path. My relation with him extended throughout his life. He died at the age of 105
Peer Mohammad Amin Shah RA popularly known by his penname Shah Amin was born in 1930 in his ancestral home Sheikh Haar Pulwama Kashmir in a noble family. His father- Peer Shah Qutubud Din attained his spiritual guidance from his forefather whose spiritual lineage was connected with Kubrawiya Sisila (This particular lineage is also known as Firdausia Silsilais a Sufi order that traces its spiritual lineage to the prophet Mohammad through Hazrat Ali. The Kubrawiya order is named after its 13th-century founder Najm al-Din Kubra).
While narrating his autobiography that he has noted down in his booklet titled “ “Asrari Wahadat” He said, I attained my earlier education under the tutelage of my beloved mother-Jan Bibi, who was a very pious and God-fearing lady having good hold on Arabic, Persian, and Kashmir language. At the age of seven, my parents admitted me to a local primary school at Rajpoor where I received my primary education in Urdu mode under the guidance of Hakeem Yaseen Sheikh from Rajpoora and the pundit teacher- Mohan Lal from village-Patri. During those days such institutions were commonly known as “ Zaat-Hal”. As my I.Q. level was high, I grasped each lesson frequently. I put my heart and soul to learn my lessons. Because of my hard work and humble attitude, both of my teachers gave me a lot of love and affection. It was the pre-partition time, my father was mostly remained busy attending to his disciples. He has a very huge following. He had disciples from far-off places like Lahore, Jammu, Punjab, and Ameristar. Though, most of his time was spent with his followers in and outside of his home town therefore my social and intellectual development mostly took place under the guidance of my beloved mother. It was the inner urge of my parents to see his son as Matriculate because during those days there was a craze associated with it. Matric-10th passed academic qualification was considered as the highest degree. On one occasion when my father was on a visit to Lahore, one of his disciples –Khazir Waga-a a well-off business of that time requested him to share the meals with him at his residence at Lahore. My father expressed his concern that he had to move back to Kashmir to admit his son to the school for further education. Khazir Waga ironically raised the question and asked “Do the peer families complete the religious and they move for modern education? That left an ever-lasting impact on the psyche of my father. He changed his earlier decision. My father without wasting any timearrangeda home tutor namely Ali Shah. He taught me Karima, Namie Haq, Badaye-Manzoom, and Pund-Nami. After his death, my father arranged for another tutor to give continuity to my education, and this time he appointed Molvi Rahman Sheikh. Under his guidance, I study prominent books like Gulistan, Bostan, Zuliqha, Jami, Sarfi- Nahaw, and Qudrayee. While I was learning different study materials of the various authors, my urge grew deep to acquire spiritual guidance. And I took my first allegiance on the hands of my father. In this way, my spiritual journey started from my home.
I was growing physically and spiritually. One night I saw a dream. In that particular dream, I saw an enlightened man with a shining face. He introduced himself as Sheikh- Ul- Alam, He picked a piece of paper from his pocket and entrusted the same to me. And blessed me. When I woke up from that particular morning, an extraordinary feeling developed in me. Some verses were rebounded in my mind and I took the pen and started to note those verses on a piece of paper. That was my first step towards the world of poetry. My first verses are
Bar Sahib Boozom, KharThuhmut Chum Gulan
Ushi Kini Chus Khoon HaraanKhasti Kurnas Bilboolan
Kour Mai Izhar Serpeeran Khabi Pat Booz Num
Dout Ma Hukma Noor-Ud-Dinan Tani Chus Gazal Wanan.
Days passed, I started to write Naath Sheriff. Over time, I became popular through my writing in and around the locality. One day I visited the village- Muran Pulwama where I had an interesting and meaningful interaction with the stranger. After giving a brief introduction to him. He asked me the question “What do you know about Nafi-Izbaat ”It was the first time in my life that someone was testing my knowledge, I was not much confident but still I quoted the verse of Ahmad Batwari RA to elaborate the term which is very prominent among Sufi’s. The verse is “ NafiIs baat Sar Chum Faqirus- Lala-Ilallah-Sara. Somehow, I faced that situation but not with much confidence. That particular situation further provoked me to know more about the spiritual world and its various stages and terms used on this path. For that purpose, I moved to Tikan Batpoor to acquire further guidance from the Sufi saint namely KhaliqQazi. I remained connected with him till his last breath. Later, I went to another learned man Peer Saif-Ud-Din from the same village to quench the thirst for knowledge. He enlightened with- Ilmi Zahiri and Ilm Batin. His guidance attracted me more towards the spiritual path. My relation with him extended throughout his life. He died at the age of 105. After him, I developed my spiritual connection with Faqeer Amad Sahab who was residing at Poju-Pulwama. After his physical death, I moved to Srinagar- here I was fortunate enough to avail myself of spiritual guidance from Peer Shames-Ud-Din Kamali. He was a well-known writer poet and instrumentalist of his time known by his penname Harat Kamili. I had a chance to read his Masnavi Rana-Wa-Zaba. He also helped me to conquer the various spiritual stages that are pre-requite for a person who wished to be the traveler of this divine path. As the Sufi Mahfils-Sama were arranged occasionally there, my interest grew to learn the musical instrument Sitar that I finally learned under his guidance
During my stay at Srinagar, I also met Syed Mirak Shah Kashayni RA at Shalimar. I also met Qalander Sultan Soub Badasgami- Islamabad. He opened new gates of knowledge for me. I was getting first time acquainted with the knowledgethat was quite new for me. Before his soul left for his eternal journey, he entrusted me to Ali Mohammad Gilkar. Finally, in1972, he left this world for good at the age of eighty-five.
A flower can’t restrict its fragrance, the spiritual fragrance of Shah Shah attracted many spiritual lovers towards him. Like his forefather, he started to guide people. His followers spread across Jammu and Kashmir who are still retaining his legacy. Shah Shab also contributed through the pen. He produced a series of writing collections in the form verses-Naath and Gazliyaat under the following titles.IshqiNabi, Jazbi-Ulfat, Jalwa-Muyeeshreif,Waqayee-MuyeeMuqadas, Mahraj-Wa-Malood, NazraniaAqeedatJinab Ghusul-Azim Dastigeer RA- (3volumes) NazraniaBadargha-Sultan-Ul-Arifeen RA (4 volumes), Nazriania Aqeedat Ramzanul-Fazilat, NidayeeIshq, JawhariIshq, Hubabi-Dil, PaygamiUlfat, ZahooriIshq, Chashmi-Haywat, Lubi-Lubab, GungiMukhfi, Bidayee-Gayab, NagmiMansoor, Mugzi Wahadat, Zuzuch Naye, Guli-Wahadat, Gangi Wahadat, Dardi Wahadat, Jami Wahadat, AsrariWahadat, etc. During this entire process of writing and compiling, one of his closest disciples Abdul Majid Bhat from New Theed Harwan played the pivotal role which was endorsed by Shah Amin Shab RA. This noble personality parted from us on 14th January 2016 at 6:00 pm corresponding to 2nd Rabi-Ul-Sani 1438. May Almighty Allah bless him the highest place in Jannah!
