Assam Rifles holds medical camp in Noksen

July 31, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Tuensang , July 30: Reinforcing its commitment to community welfare and accessible healthcare, the Assam Rifles organised a Free Medical and Dental Camp at Noksen Village in Tuensang district of Nagaland on July 29, benefiting residents from remote areas with limited access to healthcare facilities.
The humanitarian initiative was aimed at delivering quality medical services to villagers while promoting awareness about preventive healthcare and healthy living practices.
A dedicated team of Medical and Dental Officers from the Assam Rifles conducted comprehensive health check-ups and provided treatment to patients suffering from a range of common ailments. Medicines were also distributed free of cost to those requiring medical assistance.
Alongside clinical consultations, the medical team educated residents on the importance of personal hygiene, oral healthcare and preventive health measures. Special emphasis was laid on maintaining dental hygiene, adopting healthy lifestyle habits and seeking timely medical attention to prevent serious illnesses.
The awareness sessions encouraged villagers to prioritise regular health check-ups, balanced nutrition and sanitation, while highlighting the importance of early diagnosis in reducing the burden of preventable diseases.
The camp witnessed an encouraging response from local residents, who appreciated the initiative and expressed gratitude to the Assam Rifles for bringing specialised medical and dental services to their doorstep.
Officials said such outreach programmes are part of the Assam Rifles' ongoing efforts to improve healthcare access in remote and border areas while strengthening its bond with local communities through meaningful humanitarian initiatives.
The medical camp once again highlighted the force's role beyond security, reflecting its continued commitment to public welfare, community development and improving the quality of life in the region.
