Tourism Dept organises cleanliness drive at Shankar Acharya

The Department of Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir, organized a cleanliness drive at Shankar Acharya Hill, Srinagar, on World Tourism Day today.
The drive was inaugurated by Director, Tourism, Kashmir , in the presence of other tourism officials.
Officials said that the cleanliness drive was part of the department's efforts to promote sustainable tourism in Kashmir and urged tourists and locals alike to keep the hill clean and to respect the environment.
The participants in the drive collected garbage and plastic waste from the hill. Shankar Acharya Hill is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kashmir. It is home to the Shankaracharya Temple, which is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. The hill also offers stunning views of the Dal Lake and the city of Srinagar.
