Rain lash plains, snowfall in upper reaches

The rains lashed the plains of Kashmir while some upper reaches experienced a fresh snowfall on Thursday.
Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley were lashed by light to moderate rains and some upper reaches including Zojila Pass on the Srinagar-Ladakh highway experienced a fresh light snowfall on Thursday.
Reports of snowfall were also received from Tulail, Gurez Valley Razdan top, Sadhna Pass, and Sinthan Top bringing down the temperatures and disrupting normal life, said an independent forecaster, Kashmir Weather.
The MeT had predicted widespread rain and light snow over higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
The MeT office said the weather will generally remain cloudy with light to moderate rain and light snow over higher reaches at most places coupled with thunder, and lighting from today evening to late night Friday.
The weather is very likely to remain generally dry from April 21 to April 25 with afternoon thundershower activity can’t be ruled out as there is the possibility of light rain with thunder at many places during April 26 and 27.
The day and night temperature improved in Kashmir and were recorded above normal.
