On 11-September National Forest Martyr’s day has been celebrated to commemorate sacrifices given by Forest employees during their official duties or those officials ,whom died due to injuries caused by animal attacks, firefighting, rolling down or getting accidentally slipped from high altitudes and attacks by timber smugglers carrying sharp tools. About more than 114 Forest employees were martyred ,which were Class IVs, Forest Guards, Foresters,Range officers and an IFS officer during their official duties and thousands were injured. Most of the forest martyrs died due to injuries caused by timber smugglers during raids against timber mafia and with the passage of time, those martyrs died due to their severe injuries , which consumed both their lives and resources. 

We will recall martyrdom of few forest officers. About few years ago , a Forester in Diswas attacked during night patrolling and he was so ruthlessly neatened and injured and those injuries became cause of his death and after that his lone son was appointed on SRO ,who during duty in the way suffered an accident and alone with his senior official died at Soura Medical Institute and left his poor daughters and a widow wife helpless. No government came for their help. Now, this forest martyrs day is being celebrated for their sacrifice and the for the help of their orphaned children and widow wives.
In 2019, a forest employee slipped and fell into a deep Nallah and died on the spot. Another died on same day due to heart attack on the government duty.
An FPF AD suffered any accident with a convoy during duty and died on the spot. A forest employee suffered head injury during duty and was admitted in Government Hospital for months. Another Forest Employee severely injured during firefighting.
These are these forest frontline forces, which put their lives in risk to protect Forests. Facing risk has become routine task. Unfortunately, despite facing risk and large scale martyrdom given , government don't took heed towards the issues of forest employees. Despite facing daily risk of life, still these poor employees are not paid Risk allowances and the families of martyrs are not given any kind of assistance. It is severe injustice with forest frontline forces and this injustice should be eliminated.
Forest protection is the day to day responsibility, which requires daily patrolling of every area and the supervision of the forests days and nights. No holiday or festival these forest frontline forces can enjoy. Due to this tough responsibility of days and nights and no holiday keeps them alart.
So, Non-Gazzetted Forest Officers Association (NGFOA) initiated to forward the issues for the welfare of the families of martyrs and for rights of green soldiers of forest frontline forces. NGFOA on the occasion of forest martyrs day demanded welfare schemes for the families of Forest Martyrs to end their suffering. NGFOA demanded, If despite giving martyrdoms for the cause of forest protection, still we are not paid Risk allowances and despite giving duties days and nights and even during holidays and festivals, still forest employees aren't given 2&1/2 Sunday Extra allowances. NGFOA also demanded same ranks of other Departments have huge variations with pay scale with forest frontline forces and forest frontline forces feel injustice with them. So, they demanded enhancement of grade in pay matrix of forest frontline forces. Other other hand, they on this occasion demanded, our same wing of the same Department that is Forest Protection Forces are given Risk allowences,2&1/2 Sunday Extra allowances, Ratio money etc working on same work place and for same purpose, Which is great injustice and discriminatory in nature.
NGFOA requests to our central and state government to make a sound welfare scheme for the the families of Forest Martyrs and requests to fulfill genuine rights like Risk allowances, 2 and 1/2 Sunday Extra allowances ,enhancement of grade in pay matrix , what they demanded since decades to eliminate injustice with them, what the department has agreed genuine and right, so that families of martyrs and the forest frontline forces can enjoy lives rightfully and satisfactorily.
