J&K Bank donates 2 e-carts, 4 metal barricades to NIT

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and "Go Green" Initiative, the Jammu and Kashmir Bank on Tuesday donated 2 Electric carts, 4 Metal Barricades to National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar.

On behalf of the Bank, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Zonal Head Srinagar, handed over the e-vehicles to Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath.

The function was attended by Institute's Registrar Prof. Atikur Rahman, Dean Students Welfare Prof. Abdul Liman, DR (Admin)Faisal Irshad Ganai, DR (Accounts) Nazia Nazir, AR (Director’s Office | Legal) Mohammad Hazik and AR (Special Secretary to Director) Shahid Hamid Najar.

DGM J&K Bank Tariq Ali, Asmat Ara (Cluster Head), Branch Head NIT Srinagar Nasreena Hassan and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

On the occasion, Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath expressed his gratitude to J&K Bank for donating e-carts and 4 traffic barriers to the Institute.  These e-carts will help in the reduction of carbon emissions and traffic congestion within the campus, he said.

Director also urged J&K Bank to organise awareness workshops for students and scholars, so that they can take benefit of various schemes and educational loans.

He said bank should actively sponsor workshops, seminars, and facilities to enhance community engagement and support educational endeavors.

Institute's Registrar, Prof. Atikur Rahman said that J&K Bank is not only famous for its services in Union Territory but also in other parts of the country. The bank's commitment to excellence has significant impact on communities beyond regional boundaries, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Zonal Head Srinagar, Shabir Ahmad Bhat reiterated that J&K Bank’s pledge to support initiatives aligned with the nation's goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2070.

"The bank will keep working on activities that benefit society and communities through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. These actions aim to support lasting growth in society.

Bhat said that the primary goal of the CSR Policy is to demonstrate the bank's ongoing dedication to engaging in economically, socially, and environmentally friendly activities that uplift all parts of society.

Asmat Ara (Cluster Head) also said that in future, J&K Bank will proactively organize numerous awareness events focused on educational loans and other student centric schemes at NIT Srinagar.
